Dr. Roderick Gant was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. He attended Southern University A&M College graduating with a B.S. in Animal Science. He then went on to obtain an M.S. in Dairy Nutrition and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (2000) both from Washington State University. After his time in Pullman, he went on to complete a one-year rotating small animal internship at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Gant then spent 5 years in Philadelphia, PA before coming to Texas in 2007. Since then he has been working in emergency medicine and general practice. His interest includes dermatology, medicine, and emergency medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, learning the art of smoking meat and watching sports.
